She's Here, She's There, She's Everywhere

Yesterday was an awesome and amazing day in the missionary letter department.  We got our now weekly e-mail that Rachel writes for us to forward to friends and family, individual short e-mail notes, and TWO snail mail letters.  She wrote one of the letters 37,000 feet above Arkansas--when all of her seatmates were either napping or had headphones in and couldn't be taught the gospel by her--and the other the first night she was in the mission home.  I felt like I had won the letter lottery--JACKPOT!!!!

Sister Young also included some pictures that we greatly enjoyed.  She's been gone just under a month, but it was SO fun to "see her" again.  Here are a couple of the pix she sent (I won't post them all since most of you probably get her forwarded letters already):

Sister Young with her MTC companion, Sister Waldman.
I think every missionary that has been at the Provo MTC
has posed for a similar picture.  Very cool!
She is in a threesome with two other sisters (both from Idaho):
Sister Williams and Sister Taylor.
I've been missing my girl, but it was such a joy to hear from her.  We also got to talk to her last Tuesday when she flew out from the Salt Lake airport to Atlanta.  It was only a 20-minute conversation, but oh, it was so good to hear her voice.  I've never been a huge fan of Mother's Day, but now I can hardly wait for it this year when she'll get to call home again.  Oh, happy, happy day!!

Rachel did leave a couple of nice touches as she left.  When we were trying to get on the road the afternoon we left, I was feeling frustrated because she was putzing around the house while we were sitting in the van in the garage. However, I didn't want her last memory of home for eighteen months to be me nagging at her to hurry.  So, I patiently waited, and when we arrived home, we found these on our bedroom doors:

Now my heart was already a little tender, but I'll have to admit that I teared up all over again.  Mike said, "Are we going to leave these up for a year and a half?"  Well, I'll have to admit that I haven't taken them down yet. . . We shall see.

I thought I was holding it together fairly well that first week.  Then I opened up my Primary binder on Sunday morning and found:

Fortunately, it was neither my turn to conduct nor do Sharing Time that week, so I was okay to sit and sniffle in the back.  Man, I miss that girl!!!  However, I honestly wouldn't have her anywhere else, and I'm happy to share her with the people of Atlanta for seventeen more months.
